The problem is that he admitted in court to drugging women with qualudes for sex. If he hadn't done that, he might be a free man right now, but on the other hand, he drugged women for sex, so there's that. That said, whatever happened to the statute of limitations? Nobody should have to fear prosecution for some stuff that went on 30 years ago. Nobody died. These women were going to have sex with him anyway, so by the definition of rape at that time, as I understand it, it wasn't rape. Nobody should be prosecuted for a crime today that wasn't a crime when it occurred.

He ADMITTED to drugging women, in court, under oath. What more do you want? That said, these women were going to have sex with him anyway, so it wasn't rape by the definition of rape at that time.
