New footage has been released of Michael Brown which attempts to put in context the now-infamous strong-armed robbery footage that had been previously released during the investigation of his “unarmed’ death at the hands of Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri. It was released during South By Southwest (#SXSW) in Austin, Texas in a documentary film entitled “Stranger Fruit.” The film’s producer, Jason Pollock, claims he was in St. Louis (close to Ferguson) for two years putting the documentary together. The new footage was patched together in a way that made it appear as if Brown actually exchanged marijuana for the items he took from the store rather than stealing them. The intention of the film is to essentially vindicate those that say Michael Brown did not rob the store, therefore should not have been approached by Darren Wilson on that fateful day in 2014.
A big problem with Jason Pollock’s “film” is that it is obviously patched together and does not play the unreleased surveillance footage in full. Because if it did show all of the unreleased footage, then a different story would be painted. Not only was the Pollock’s footage deceptively edited, it also contained his narration of the story to support the deceptive editing.
The convenience store in question’s lawyer delivered a press conference on Tuesday March 14th in which he played all of the previously unreleased footage. It painted an entirely different story. Rather than Michael Brown paying for the merchandise with weed and leaving it behind the counter to pick up later, he attempts to pay for the merchandise with weed but the people behind the counter refuse. He tries to walk off with the goods but is stopped by the people in the store. He comes back to the counter and gives them the bag, they re-stock it, and that’s it. Michael Brown comes back the next morning and tries to do the same thing and this time, he simply walks off with the product, therefore he robs the store. And from there, Darren Wilson encountered him and the rest is history.
Long story short, Jason Pollock is simply trying to cash in on black people’s misery. On the misery of Michael Brown’s family. Apparently he doesn’t care if innocent people get hurt as a result. As long as he’s able to get his 15 minutes of fame. There have already been shootings at “demonstrations” in Ferguson in light of this “new” video that he most likely obtained through illegal methods. The purpose of the video I created is to present actual, real information to counteract Jason Pollock’s false and self-serving information.
