Bill Maher slams dems

UPDATED 9:53 AM PT – Tuesday, October 1, 2019
Left-wing political commentator Bill Maher is slamming Democrats for not holding former Vice President Joe Biden to the same standards as other lawmakers. The talk show host’s remarks come as Biden continues to make headlines for his son’s controversial ties to Ukraine.Maher compared the current controversy surrounding the former vice president to past allegations against former congressman Al Franken, who resigned when multiple women accused the senator of sexual assault. In a recent tweet, the political commentator said allegations of Biden’s secondhand connection to Ukraine draws parallels with the allegations that jump-started Franken’s resignation because like Franken’s scandal, Biden’s controversy would be bad for the party’s brand.

If Al Franken had to go because Dems had to be totally clean on MeToo stuff in comparison with Trump/Rep.s, should Biden withdraw so Dems are totally clean on Ukraine swampiness? Its not a fair comparison, but neither was Franken. Asking for a friend.

This isn’t the first time Maher has suggested factions of his party are playing by two different sets of rules. On that same day, the New York Times published a Q&A with the talk show host that slammed the far-left’s PC (political correctness) Culture. He claimed it stifles the country’s ability to learn and grow from mistakes.FILE – Bill Maher speaks to the crowd in Beverly Hills, Calif. (Casey Curry/Invision/AP Photo)The recent remarks from Maher echoes some comments he has made in the past:“It’s kind of a cancer on progressivism. I’ve been saying this for years…that first of all, you have to stand up to Twitter. Twitter isn’t us. Twitter isn’t the rank-and-file Democrats. It’s not even most liberals.”Last week Maher also blasted his party, specifically MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, for coverage of the Ukraine-Biden controversy.“It does sound like something Don Jr. would do and and if Don Jr. did it, it would be all Rachel Maddow was talking about,” he pointed out.Maher sighted similar examples in the New York Times piece and warned his party to stop its PC Culture and double-standards that’s, in part, spearheaded by the far-left.
